We have worked with neighborhood leadership to organize a process and select a team for designing the substation’s public interface.

The Design Process

We have a three-step process to go from vision to construction.

Step 1:
Community Design

3 to 5-month process of designing with you and Georgia Power, starting with the Georgia Power program, understanding community needs and wants, and then working collaboratively to develop a design that everyone supports

Step 2:
Design Documentation

3-month process to document and engineer the final design for construction

Step 3:
Construction

10-month construction process where we will provide construction administration

During Step 1, we will have three kinds of meetings: (1) meetings with the entire community, (2) meetings with the neighborhood steering committee, and (3) meetings with Georgia Power. Ultimately, the neighborhood steering committee will make the final decisions on the neighborhood recommendations.
If you’d like to join the steering committee, please reach out to us.

The Schedule

We understand that the community design process will take time. Therefore, please consider this schedule a framework for the design process. We will make updates as we advance and learn more. Additionally, our team will be at the upcoming regular neighborhood meetings.

The Team

We are an Atlanta based team of designers and engineers that includes Perkins&Will, Sykes Consulting, Inc., and Certified Professional Estimators. Our team will be supplemented by civil and electrical engineers from Georgia Power.
